Clarissa Kosmak and Kevin Stokes have often written love letters to each other. However, one unexpected letter changed their lives forever.
Clarissa met Kevin, an American Family Insurance agent in Eldon, through Match.com. As their relationship strengthened, the couple took some big steps to build on their future. Clarissa started a new career as a fifth grade teacher at Eldon R-1 School District in August, and Clarissa, her 9-year-old daughter and Kevin started a new family home life in Henley.
Before this, the couple had thought about taking the big leap. In fact, Clarissa expected him to propose around the holidays, but Kevin surprised her when he popped the question in front of her family, who lives in the Great Smoky Mountains in eastern Tennessee. While the family opened Christmas presents, Clarissa discovered a gift to her from Kevin.
“His proposal was written on a scroll wrapped with a silver dipped rose with a pear shaped diamond ring,” she said. “Kevin’s proposal was sweet and sentimental. … I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
As a result, Clarissa responded by crafting a post-Christmas engagement story set to the poetic rhythm of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.” The couple will have a romantic “Winter Wonderland” themed wedding reception Dec. 1 at Maplewood Barn Theatre in Columbia following a marriage ceremony Oct. 20 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
While planning her wedding, Clarissa was also looking for the perfect bridal hair and makeup. Thanks to Simply Beautiful Salon and Spa, she was able find her ideal style. Complete with beautifully cascading curls and soft volume, Clarissa’s wedding up-do matches her romantic, classy wedding dress, and she was delighted to with some new makeup hues.
Those colors and hairstyle match Clarissa’s own wedding dress, as they did with the beautiful, elegant ivory gown from Ana Marie’s Bridal she wore for her “How to Style” wedding makeover experience. “This was such a wonderful opportunity and a treat,” she said.
