The first Spring Tea Luncheon hosted by Central Trust Company in Jefferson City was held at the Central Bank Financial Center’s event room on May 14. As fitting any type of tea, cucumber sandwiches greeted us when we sat down and guests were asked to bring their favorite tea cup and saucer and wear their favorite hat for the event. Dessert was chef Nancy Samp’s famous cashew cookies.
After the luncheon, Carolyn Miller from Nostalgia Vintage Apparel in Sedalia, Missouri gave a presentation on “The History of Women’s Fashions.” With mannequins donning the fashions from the 1880s to the 1970s, Miller clearly demonstrated that nothing truly goes out of fashion as it evolves and resurfaces again and again.
