Rome, who owns and operates The Blue Skillet was one of several local restaurants who provided soup for the event. Domenico's Italian Restaurant, Prison Brews, Ecco Lounge, Madison's Cafe and Oscar's Diner were among others who participated.

Kyle's 5K
(Photo by Sally Ince) Lane Smart, 2, enjoys a slice of watermelon with his mom, Amber Smart, at the Kyle's Summer Classic 5K Run/Walk on July 21. Runners and spectators were given bagels, popsickles and watermelon after the race to help cool down in the warm weather. The 5K is in remembrance of Kyle Billington, a local runner and Jeff City Road Runner Club member, who passed away in a car accident in 2006.

Participants had the option to run or walk the 1.2, 3.5 or 7.5 mile trails through the woods. Children ages 10 and older were able to participate in the race portion of the event but all guests were able to enjoy live music, food and beverages after the race.
